A PWLLHELI man who brought a bit of festive cheer to shoppers in the run-up to Christmas has raised over £2,000 for the Wales Air Ambulance.
Paul Wilson travelled to different locations across north Wales with his trumpet and ‘busked’ for shoppers with a host of popular carols in the weeks running up to Christmas.
His efforts raised a grand total of £2,217 which he presented to the Wales Air Ambulance last week.
Speaking after the presentation, the retired RAF man said: “I would like to thank everyone who donated over Christmas.
“I moved to the area last year after having raised money for Help for Heroes over the years in Lincolnshire. I was amazed by the work the Wales Air Ambulance does and how it relies solely on donations.
“They have made me an official volunteer now so at least when people see me busking in the future they know the money is going to a good cause.”
Paul isn’t resting on his laurels.
He plans to take on the Great Wall of China in September, walking six hours a day and tackling some of the toughest terrain in the world, all to raise money for the Wales Air Ambulance.
Paul is also backing the Pwllheli RNLI boathouse appeal and plans to be around the Llyn with his trumpet over the coming months.
