The recent disclosure of the total takeover of the Welsh-speaking Cwm yr Eglwys village in the north Pembrokeshire community by second-home owners, has been typical of so many rural Welsh communities over several decades.
So what’s news? If Norman King Edward Longshanks had come to Wales with a cheque book in 1282, instead of his sword-bearing thugs, he could have finished Wales then, without shedding an ounce of blood, or building all the castles of conquest.
All people should be welcome to Wales, but if they want a second home they should buy a mobile home not whole village communities.
