A PROSPECTIVE buyer may have been found for a historic college site, it has emerged.

Coleg Harlech closed its doors in February last year and neighbouring Theatr Ardudwy closed earlier this year.

Concerns had been raised locally over the future of the grade II listed Wern Fawr site, which had been a learning centre for adults for 90 years.

Since its closure, the site has laid dormant whilst Adult Learning Wales, who are responisble for the site, decide what will happen next to the building, leaving much of the town wondering what’s in store for the local fixture.

Chairman of Adult Learning Wales, Michelle Kerswell, visited councillors in Harlech during their monthly meeting and told them that a buyer had been found for the Wern Fawr site and that ALW are currently working with an agent.

Mrs Kerswell went on to tell councillors that a safety officer is visiting the site regularly to carry out necessary measures to stop the building from falling into disrepair.
