DANGEROUS flooding levels in the River Twymyn in Powys are affecting rail services on the Cambrian Line today.
The issue is particularly affecting the rail bridge at Glyntwymyn, also known as Black Bridge.
As a safety consequence, the line has been closed until river levels drop to safe levels.
Arriva Trains Wales and Network Rail will be working closely together to minimise disruption for passengers and regular inspections of the bridge will be taking place today.
Replacement road transport services are now conveying passengers between Machynlleth and Newtown in Powys via Caersws in both directions. Trains will still be running between Pwllheli/Aberystwyth and Machynlleth and between Newtown and Shrewsbury.
Passengers are advised to check for latest updates before travelling: www.journeycheck.com/arrivatrainswales/
Traffic Wales also report that Dyfi Bridge is closed.
The A487 is currently closed in both directions until further notice.
