A new armed forces veterans hub peer mentor has been appointed for Ceredigion to work on projects to help and support veterans and their families.

Captain Colin Jones has been named the Ceredigion Armed Forces Peer Mentor, after a successful funding bid to the National Lottery saw funding awarded for a joint project in Ceredigion, Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire.

Cllr Paul Hinge, the Armed Forces Champion for Ceredigion, said they put a regional bid in through the Armed Forces Covenant to get National Lottery funding.

“It’s a two-year programme. Colin has got a list of work to do and will report back quarterly.

“He’s very enthusiastic and has got a lot of great ideas,”he said.

“It’s to help veterans and their families, the important part being that it is about people engaging.”
