Members have repeatedly expressed concerns over the “chaotic” parking situation surrounding the school in Wellington Gardens both in the morning and afternoon.
And local police officers have even had to intervene following incidents of road rage among parents.
Now Cllr Huw Thomas has suggested that a grass verge near the residential home could be converted into a car park.
“The current situation is just mayhem – an accident waiting to happen,” he told colleagues. “There’s a grass verge near Min y Môr – could it not be turned into a car park?
“At the moment that area is just a waste of space. We need to do something to try to ease the parking situation down there.
“Even a car park catering for around 25 cars would make a difference.”
Cllr Elizabeth Evans agreed some sort of solution needed to be found. “There have been instances of parents falling out unnecessarily over parking,” she added.
“This is a problem of long-standing. Ceredigion County Council have had talks with the school and at one point even thought of staggering its opening times."
