Carno Show
THE CARNO Show committee will be holding an Easter treasure Hunt on Saturday, 26 March (Easter Saturday) starting at 2.30pm from the community centre in Carno. The route will take in points of interest and areas of beauty around the village finishing back at the community centre, this is a great opportunity to explore the village on foot and to find those hidden clues. Other events included in the 2016 programme include the regular wine walk through the village on 14 May and the president’s supper on the 9 July, again in the community centre. The 2016 show is on Saturday, 20 August, starting from the Laura Ashley car park at 12.30pm with the carnival parade. The theme for this year’s show is ‘I spy with my little eye, some-thing beginning with C’. Besides the usual horticultural and craft competitions and the well represented livestock categories, other planned attractions this year include new and vintage vehicles, bouncy castle, children’s sports, tag rugby, and many more. The marquee will have the usual craft stalls, of which there are still some places/tables left; contact Tracy or Rhiannon if you are interested in having a stall/table in the marquee. Also, the committee is looking for someone to manage and run the dog show this year. Contact Tracy or Rhiannon if you are interested in running the show — last year’s had over 35 entries. In early December, there will be a flower-arranging masterclass which will be just in time for you to make that special table centre-piece or Christmas wreath; this event was oversubscribed last year so with limited places again please book early to avoid disappointment. For further details or information about any of the events, contact Tracy on 07709 491725 or Rhiannon on 07751 880449.
