THE Pwllheli RNLI lifeboat station appeal to renew their inshore lifeboat has received over £1,500 from supporters.
Mike and Carol Rees celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in August with the aim of supporting Pwllheli Lifeboat Station.
Mr and Mrs Rees have been holidaying in the Pwllheli area for years from their home in Wigan.
Celebrations started on Sunday, 7 August, at their home in Wigan with lunch and donations to the Pwllheli appeal instead of gifts, raised £450.
The following weekend, Saturday, 11 August, celebrations continued at Pwllheli Sports Club in Efailnewydd.
With over 100 guests attending, playing games, and a raffle with prizes donated by local businesses. They rose over £1100 which brought the grand total to £1,560.
Pwllheli RNLI coxswain, Clive Moore said: “On behalf of Pwllheli Lifeboat Station I would like to thank Mr and Mrs Rees for their generous donation.
"Also I would like to thank their friends, family and the businesses that supported the fundraising. The donation will go towards our inshore lifeboat appeal.”
