GARY chaired the July committee meeting. Apologies were received from Hilary, Colin, Rose, Fiona and Lindsey.Minutes of the previous meeting were read and agreed. Acting Treasurer, Chris, presented healthy balances with £1,087.50 income (two film nights and the remainder Hall hire) against £535.44 expenditure for the main account and £90 income against £86.50 expenditure for the Community Garden account since the last meeting. The Business Reserve account remains unchanged at just over £4,000 and represents 9 months’ running costs for the Hall.Recent problems with the boiler and the plumbing have now been resolved and the guttering fixed. The annual maintenance check has been carried out on the security system, the hearing loop is being checked on Monday and problems with the projector have been resolved with the expertise and assistance of Ivor Thomas. There is still a problem with the electric hob and the replacement of the play area fencing is ongoing. Some regular classes will take a summer break during which time we hope to have the interior of the hall painted. The last film night for the summer season is 5 August and we will resume in September. Thanks to Amanda and John for all their hard work with film nights. The ‘new’ team is now in place.More helpers are always welcome!Richard reported on the community garden. He, Rose and Lindsey are to be thanked for all their hard work. There are still some plots available and some plot fees are overdue. It was agreed to contribute to the WI village tea party on 10 August by allowing free use of the Hall for the afternoon.Once again we are appealing for extra bodies to join us to spread the work a little more thinly. We desperately need a Treasurer. Could you help?
