Charities in Ceredigion could take a share of £1 million from Morrisons.

The Morrisons Foundation is delighted to announce the launch of ‘Connecting Communities’ in support of local charities that run shared spaces in their local area.

Grants of up to £20,000 are now available for charities in Aberystwyth and surrounding villages Ceredigion who need financial support to improve their facilities. Funding is specifically targeted at capital improvements, including new equipment, essential maintenance, or refurbishments.

Charities running spaces that bring people together to connect, socialise and access vital support, such as village halls, youth clubs and community centres, are encouraged to apply for a share of the £1 million fund. This also includes charities that provide place-based support in the communities, including warm hubs for the elderly, school PTAs and hospices.

Lorraine Moore, Community Champion at Morrisons in Aberystwyth, said: “It’s wonderful that we’re launching this new fund to help charities in our local community.

“Thanks to the Connecting Communities fund, charities will have the opportunity to improve their facilities, making a direct, positive impact right here on our doorstep.

Since launching in 2015, the Morrisons Foundation has donated almost £50 million through community grants and matched the fundraising of Morrisons colleagues, supporting thousands of charities across England, Scotland and Wales.
