I have lived in Glandyfi on the main road for over 40 years and every year when we get higher than normal rainfall the road gets flooded and blocked to all except the biggest lorries at one small dip-point in the road between Derwenlas and Glandyfi.
On Wednesday, 20 January,it was blocked yet again, with vehicles broken down.
Over the years I have reported these floodings to the Trunk Road Agency and pointed out that a relatively simple repair by raising a 20-metre long dip in the road by about 18 inches and feathering it off both sides to level it off would avoid the chaos we get from time to time.
I have also pointed out that the diversion route between Machynlleth and Aberystwyth is a 50-mile journey with serious implications for service vehicles, including ambulances.
If a few more people would write, perhaps they might do something after all these years.
