Madam,
I hear the chancellor needs to raise £20 billion in taxes to pay for the NHS.
There is nothing wrong with this except the Brexiteers and the government have already wasted almost as much in the years of negotiations with the EU, with more expense to come. If you remember the campaign bus promised billions to help the NHS, which has proved untrue.
The prime minister pronounced that austerity was over, which again is another iffy statement.
Over and over again we hear about equality for pay and all the other disproportionate practices that exist, such as work, housing, disability, and the loss of employment.
The time spent on chaotic Brexit negotiations could have usefully been spent on making pay, work, housing, etc made fair and proportionate.
A much more worthy enterprise.
The government has remarked that it is preparing for every eventuality, such as parking space for trucks waiting to cross the channel, but where are the extra police, immigration officers, border guards and other support services?
Yours etc,
Chris Smith, Bryn Deiliog, Llanbedr.
