PEN LLYN will be awash with colour this summer as runners take part in a charity fund-raiser for a hospice charity.

St David’s Hospice is getting ready to launch its first Colour Run on Pen Llyn which will take place in early May.

The charitable organisation provides free end of life care to adult patients, with a life-limiting illness, from across North Wales.

A Colour Run involved hundreds of participants gamboling their way along a five kilometre track adorned in white.

The crucial difference is that all runners will be festooned in clouds of colourful paint along the way.

Sioned Williams, St David’s Hospice development officer for Dwyfor said: “We’re so excited, the Colour Run is a way to celebrate health, happiness and creativity, whilst also giving something back to your local community.

“The money raised will be re-invested in the area to further contribute to end of life services in Dwyfor.

“It is an un-timed race in which hundreds of participants will run, walk, hop, skip, jump or dance to the finish line and is a fun day out.

“We hope to have your company on the day.”

The 5km route along the Glan-y-Don/Abererch Beach, will be lined with paint stations armed and ready for the participants to pass through and be showered with powder paints.

The paint is 100 per cent natural, eco-friendly and will disappear naturally following the race.

According to organisers, the Colour Run is all about having fun and a perfect event for all the family.

The event takes place at 1.30pm on Sunday, 8 May.
