An explosion of colours will greet runners who sign up to take part in a new charity event in Coed Brenin.

St David’s Hospice is getting ready to launch its first Colour Run near Dolgellau on Sunday, 8 September.

Keri McKie, St David’s Hospice Area Fundraiser for Gwynedd, said the event was “unlike any other 5k”.

“We’re so excited! This will be unlike any other 5k you have completed before - everyone starts out in white and along the way gets covered from head to toe in colour.

“The trail 5km run, which is classed as moderate, climb ups onto and contours round the Cefndeuddwr ridge, where you’ll meet the Sarn Helen, an ancient Roman road, before descending back to the visitor centre.

There will also be a 1km fun run for all abilities and ages to take part.

“It is an un-timed race in which will see hundreds of participants run to the finish line all having fun whilst raising money for a wonderful local charity.”

“The routes will be lined with colour stations armed and ready for the participants to pass through and be showered with powder paints. The paint is 100 per cent natural and eco-friendly.”

Participants will be encouraged to get messy and have fun, making it the perfect event for all the family.

St David’s Hospice is a local charity, caring for local people, delivering specialist care to adult patients with advanced illnesses or those in need of end of life care and their families.

Every year, this touches the lives of over 1,000 people within our local communities from across the counties of Gwynedd, Conwy and Anglesey.
