It’s party time at Cardigan Castle on Saturday, 27 July, with Charlotte Church, Buzzard Buzzard Buzzard and Adwaith.

And Theatr Mwldan and the castle will be welcoming back BBC Radio DJ and champion of Welsh music Huw Stephens to curate the evening of music, celebrating some of the best that Wales has to offer right now.

Headlining the evening is Charlotte Church’s Late Night Pop Dungeon.

This is an incredibly rare outing for the Pop Dungeon which has been lauded by the great and the good as one of the best gigs you could hope to go to.

It’s a carefully and lovingly crafted genre-hopping set that mixes the likes of David Bowie, Britney Spears, Beyoncé, Prince, En Vogue, Rage Against The Machine, Missy Elliott and Black Sabbath.

Down the dark, dark stairs, upon the bloody gallows of soft rock, through the oubliette of cheese, into the torture chamber of disco, you are welcomed to the Late Night Pop Dungeon.

The Grand High Executionatrix, dungeon mistress Charlotte Church, will give her MK Ultra treatment to the greatest tunes that time forgot, and some that will forever haunt our collective memory. Bring dancing shoes – the floor is on fire.

In Charlotte’s own words: “It’s full of love; like a massive party with a really warm hug at the end.”

Joining her for the evening are not one, but two of the hottest new bands around: Buzzard Buzzard Buzzard and Adwaith.

Buzzard Buzzard Buzzard are a four-piece from Cardiff who regularly sell-out shows in the city.

Their live sets are wild and energetic, channelling the ghosts of rock and roll past, but offering a fresh take on the classic rock model – while dressed in denim.

Adwaith are a three-piece experimental post-punk band from Carmarthen. They are like the Welsh Slits playing Johnny Cash songs, set in a European post-punk urban setting.

The evening starts at 7pm. Doors open at 6pm.
