A TALENTED Tywyn jeweller has received the royal stamp of approval after meeting the Prince of Wales.
Clare Purt, an entrepreneur supported by The Prince’s Trust Cymru 30 years ago, presented Prince Charles with a stunning handmade commemorative gift to say thank you for helping her realise her dream 30 years ago.
Clare, 51, presented Prince Charles with a silver trophy in the shape of The Prince’s Trust logo, which is made up of three feathers that she painstakingly crafted with exquisite detail.
Ms Purt established The Jewellery Workshop in Tywyn in 1986 and received advice, a low-interest loan and the invaluable support of a mentor to get her business off the ground thanks to the Prince’s charity.
She makes commissioned jewellery by hand and is well renowned for providing restoration, valuation, cleaning and engraving services.
This year Ms Purt is celebrating 30 years in business while 2016 is also a milestone year for The Prince’s Trust as it marks the charity’s 40th anniversary.
She said: “I can honestly say that the support of The Prince’s Trust, especially the help I received from my business mentor who supported me for five years, was the best training I could have wished for.
“I am now celebrating 30 years of trading, which I think speaks volumes for the quality and structure of the programme.”
