Regarding the call for volunteers for the adopt a path initiative for pathways and public rights of way by Ceredigion council.

This appears to be no more than a cheap cost cutting exercise by Ceredigion council.

There is simply no advice and guidance offered to any responders to this call with regard to two important issues; firstly the identification of rare and protected fauna and flora that should not be cleared and then secondly, identification of wild plants, such as giant hog weed or ragwort that can be extremely injurious and or poisonous.

Given children may be involved in such volunteer activities, both of the above need addressing.

Clear advice and image identification of both rare species, as well as potential harmful species needs to be provided to all such volunteer groups.
