STUDENTS at Grwp Llandrillo Menai’s Pwllheli campus joined forces this week, in a unique production based on the story of 'Gwrachod Llanddona' a folk tale from Anglesey.

Gwrach-od!, the musical was written by Alwen Derbyshire and Meleri Roberts and the music by Gwennant Pyrs Roberts and told the story of Bella Broom, a slightly reluctant witch.

The Drama lecturer Mair Gruffydd directed the show; Gwenno Pritchard was the musical director and the choreography by Tami Barma. The show was performed over three days at Neuadd Dwyfor, Pwllheli to a capacity audience.

Gwyn Rowlands, Programme Area Manager for The Arts, Media, and Health & Care said: “The show was enthusiastically received and I’m not surprised as the talent on stage was extraordinary, and appealed to both young and old!

"This musical was not produced as a part of the curriculum, but as part of the extra-curricular programme at the College, so everyone involved invested their own time. I would like to extend my congratulations to all the staff and students who worked so hard to ensure that this show was such a success!”
