Bridge club

WINNERS on 14 February were Keith Bellamy and Gill Howells, Nigel Symons Jones and John Hufferdine were second and Mike Jones and John Valentine third. Dai Hayes and Jen Harris were the only ones to bid and make 6 No Trumps on board 18, while Nigel and John did very well to bid and make 6 Hearts on board 21 based on a long but weak Hearts suit in the North hand combined with good controls and Hearts support in the South hand. Aberaeron Bridge Club meets in the Royal British Legion Hall each Thursday at 6.40pm – newcomers are eagerly welcomed. Afternoon tuition for beginners and improvers is being held on Wednesdays starting at 1pm in the Royal British Legion Hall. Last week, beginners and improvers played a series of hands involving Stayman and transfers after 1 No Trumps openings.
