Aeron Valley Railway Society

THE monthly meeting was held at the Royal British Legion Hall. It was well attended by members old and new.

They were glad to welcome back Roger Phelps from the Dean Forest Railway who gave an illustrated talk depicting a journey up the former Wye Valley line from Chepstow to Hereford.

They were able to see views of the line as it was when it was operating together with present day scenes from this most delightfully scenic route.

Roger followed this with an update on the progress achieved on the Dean Forest Railway to date.

The whole evening proved to be very entertaining for the members present and they look forward to welcoming Roger back in the future.

The next meeting of the society will be on Wednesday, 15 May when they look forward to a further episode in the story of the Devon Belle Pullman train, related to us by Ken Mumford.

It will be in the usual venue of the Royal British Legion Hall in Victoria Street in at 7.30pm. Members, prospective members and visitors will all be welcome.
