Blood donor session

A GIVE Blood session run by the Welsh Blood Service will be held at the memorial hall on Friday, 30 August, from 10am to 8pm.

Aeron Valley Railway Society

THE society met on Wednesday evening at the British Legion Hall.

It was reported that the annual exhibition in Llwyncelyn on 11 August had been well attended and had been successful.

We were then entertained by our old friend John Perkin who gave us an illustrated talk about Garden Railways. This gave us all an insight into how attractive they can be as features and also for engaging with non-enthusiasts.

The second half of his talk was a fascinating variety of pictures of transport topics, covering railway, ship and road transport whether historic or contemporary. Something for everyone.

The next meeting will be at 7.30pm on Wednesday, 18 September, in the British Legion Hall. Visitors and prospective members will, as always, be welcome.
