Community Christmas
Aberaeron is the place to be on Saturday, 2 December with fun for the whole family at the annual Community Christmas. Starting at 3pm there will be free live entertainment, face painting, stilt walking, mulled wine and cawl, and of course Father Christmas.
There will be a lantern parade by the primary school children to the town’s Christmas tree and the Christmas lights will be turned on by Mayor Rhys Davies at 5pm.
This will be followed by the announcement of the winners of the Window Spotting Competition, which starts on Friday, 17 November. Entry forms can be collected from JR Evans Shoe Shop or via thes Facebook page – Nadolig Cymunedol Aberaeron Community Christmas – and last entries must be in the shop by 4pm Friday, 1 December.
The raffle will also be drawn at this time, together with announcement of the winners of the ‘guess the weight’ of the cake and turkey competitions. Saturday is also ‘Small Business Saturday’ and there will be a warm welcome to all in the town’s shops together with free parking in the town.

Senior Citizens
Meetings are held fortnightly on a Thursday at 1.45pm at Peniel Chapel Vestry in Water Street.
A warm welcome to all who wish to join. The next meeting is on 2 November when Cliff Williams will give a talk entitled ‘Mixed Bag’ then on 16 November Gerwyn Morgan will talk about ‘The Downtown Abbeys of the Teifi Valley’.
Warm appreciation is given to Prof Tecwyn Jones and Martin Lewis for their valuable contribution as chairman and vice chairman over many years.
Bridge Club
Winners for 26 October were Dylan Raw-Rees and Dai Hayes, with Jenny Harris and Ted Morgan sharing second place with Keith Bellamy and Gill Howells.
Valerie Wylie and Virginia Willey were the only one to bid a slam – six diamonds – which made when the defence did not switch to a heart after cashing their ace winner.
Aberaeron Bridge Club meets in the Royal British Legion Hall each Thursday at 6.45pm.
