Carnival events

ABERGYNOLWYN was a hive of activity during the week.

Carnival queen Enlli was crowned in front of an appreciative audience, with her young brother Elgan as pageboy.

The queen’s court greeted the queen with poems and dancing.

Tuesday afternoon’s fête was well attended, as was the quiz night.

On Wednesday, with a theme of country and western, there were cowboys of all ages enjoying the carnival fancy dress parade and barbecue.

Thursday saw the course record broken for the Hendrewallog Run.

On Friday evening the skittles night was a great success, with Gerallt Pennant of S4C’s Heno programme taking time out to have a go at the game and speak to Enlli and some Abergynolwyn residents about the carnival tradition.

Abergynolwyn Carnival Committee would like to thank everyone for their support in raising funds for Y Ganolfan.
