They were celebrating its 100th birthday with a dinner at the golf club.
Kath Hoyle, president, welcomed everyone especially guests Edith Roberts, mayor of Bala, Meinir Lloyd-Jones, county chair, Beryl Carding (past president) and several representatives of other institute in the Berwyn group.
This was followed by the singing of the anthem Jerusalem, just as the ladies would have done back in 1916.
Before dinner was served, Millie Rowlands and Cynthia Jones said Grace. After dinner, the usual speeches were given and glasses raised in a toast to 100 years.
The longest serving member, Marie Jones, then cut the birthday cake, assisted by another long-serving member, Olwen Jones.
The entertainment for the evening then followed. Nia Morgan and three of her very talented students, Mabon Rhys, Rhys and Nel Llewelyn, went on to entertain in song in the Welsh tradition, after which everyone took part in a good old-fashioned sing song.
Finally, Kath Hoyle thanked everyone involved, for making this a truly memorable 100th birthday celebration, especially the catering staff at the golf club.
The singing of Meirion’s, Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau and God Save The Queen, completed the evening.
