Sailors’ Institute coffee morning

Thursday, 12 July, saw another bright, sunny start to a day which proved to be a good one for the Sailors’ Institute.

Despite the weather, which was more conducive to beach activities, members had a very good attendance during the morning, including loyal local people and also quite a few visitors to the town.

The Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of was were very pleased with the response to requests for items to be scanned.

The team enjoyed their day out to the seaside and hope to return later in the year.

The Sailors’ Institute is on the list of venues to host the project display boards when they start their tour of Wales in the autumn.

The sum of £263 was raised. This could not have been achieved without the support of the cake and bread makers, Barmouth Co-op, raffle prize and table top contributions and the visitors who were looked after by the members of ‘David’s Angels’.
