Merched y Wawr
AR nos Fawrth, 17 Ionawr cynhaliwyd cyfarfod cyntaf o’r flwyddyn yn y Parlwr Mawr.
Canwyd cân y mudiad â Heulwen yn cyfeilio, a dymunodd Llewela y llywydd, flwyddyn newydd dda i bawb. Anfonwyd cofion at Grace a Pam, cyn mynd ymlaen i drafod yr ohebiaeth.
Mae’r mudiad wedi cael gwahoddiad gan gangen y Brithdir i ddathlu dydd Gwyl Dewi ac mae oddeutu 12 yn edrych ymlaen at yr achlysur.
Cafodd pawb gyfle i weld Catalog Nwyddau Dathlu’r Aur; manylion Gwyl y Pum Rhanbarth ym Mangor ym mis Mai; manylion cinio’r llywydd cenedlaethol yng Nghorwen ym mis Mawrth, ac atgoffwyd i chwilota am hen luniau neu eitemau ar gyfer Prosiect Treftadaeth y mudiad.
Mae Iona a Jean am fynychu Cwrs Crefft Aur y Gogledd yn Glasdir, Llanrwst, ac am greu clawr i lyfr lloffion.
Penderfynwyd cadw’r gystadleuaeth Punt y Sgwar i ennill carthen Melin Tregwynt tan y mis nesaf, gan fod y wraig wâdd Mair Tomos Ifans wedi cyrraedd. Cyflwynwyd Mair, a’r Fari Lwyd, gan Llewela. Roedd Mair wedi prynu’r Fari yn Eistedfod Genedlaethol Meifod lle gwelodd ar werth i gartref da. Roedd y Fari wedi ei lapio’n ofalus ac roedd pob llygad ar Mair wrth iddi ddadorchuddio’r penglog ceffyl yn ofalus. Rhoddwyd cymeriad a bywyd i’r Fari wrth i Mair roi llygaid, rubanau, clychau ac yn olaf, gorchudd gwyn drosti. Cafodd y mudiad beth o hanes y Fari Lwyd a diddorol iawn oedd clywed bod cyfeiriad at y Fari yn Y Bermo yn 1951 ac yn awr roedd hi’n ôl yn 2017.
Mae hanes traddodiad y Fari yn niwlog, ond mae’n debyg bod y Celtiaid yn addoli ceffylau ac yn eu mawrygu; credent eu bod yn arwydd o ffrwythlondeb ac yn cadw ysbrydion drwg i ffwrdd.
Diolchodd Glenys yn wresog iawn i Mair, a pharatowyd y baned gan Glenys, Gwenda a Jean. Enillydd y raffl oedd Megan Vaughan.
Bydd y cyfarfod nesaf ar nos Fawrth, 7 Chwefror am 7.30yh, ar y cyd â’r Gymdeithas Gymraeg pan fydd Cwmni Drama Dinas Mawdddwy yn diddori.
