THE latest community news from Barmouth

Bermo Arts

ON Thursday evening, Bermo Arts presented what might be termed an English Noson Lawen.

It commenced with the Singin Wimin community singers and was followed by a play reading by members of Bermo Arts.

After a break for an excellent buffet, singer Catrin O’Neill and harpist Chris Knowles took to the stage and delivered a Celtic inspired programme of Welsh and Irish songs.

The mix of performers created a balanced and thoroughly enjoyable event that seemed to be appreciated by all present.

Catrin and Chris will be returning to the Dragon in the summer and are well worth hearing, youtube videos show previous performances.

Late night in Barmouth

A REMINDER that the community event previously advised will be happening on Thursday, 7 December, from 5.30pm.

Much effort goes into the staging of these events and the town is already looking festive and colourful thanks to the efforts of local traders.

Thursday will see the turning on of the lights on the square to complete the seasonal atmosphere, this will also begin an evening of attractions to welcome everyone to the Christmas scene in Barmouth.
