Darts

THE local men’s darts team were held to a 4-4 draw by Llanrwst in a Gwynedd League match played at the RWF Club last week.

The Bowling Club lost 7-5 on aggregate to Min y Don, Old Colwyn in a North Wales League A match and their winners were Iwan, Elwyn Vaughan, Richard Elwyn Jones and Dafydd and Martin Hughes.

This Thursday evening on the club’s Gwynedd president Dafydd Hughes home green the Gwynedd Cup final between the holders Llanrwst and Llanfairpwll will be played.

GWYNEDD Council has received two applications from the town council for Community WiFi, and Annog Cyf will be contacting the town council regarding the project.

There was information that the town council is expected to contribute up to £1,000 towards the cost of this network.

THE Maenofferen Gallery hosts an exhibition by Chris Clunn and a display of creative work by Sian Northey, Mari Gwent and the pupils of Bro Hedd Wyn, Manod and Moelwyn schools and admission is free during the library’s opening hours.

CLLR Glyn Daniels attended a recent meeting regarding the Bro Rugby official who will be appointed in the near future.

Building

AT present, Antur Stiniog has stated that they are not in a position to sell any premises that have been transferred to them, which includes 5 High Street, but they are keen to work with the town council to share ideas and develop the building to its full potential for the benefit of the community.

Plaque

A MEMORIAL plaque, which was previously situated at, and named after the members of Salem Chapel who lost their lives in World War Two, has been donated by Cllr Bedwyr Gwilym to the town council and it is to be placed on a council chamber wall.

Planning

THE town council had no objection to a planning application for the demolition of the existing rear extension and the erection of a new two-storey rear extension at Gwyneddfa, Glanypwll.

Dementia

YVONNE Evans, Maureen Suffolk together with the Blaenau Bendigedig group organised an enjoyable 1960s fun day in the town on Sunday, 5 August, with music from Wynne Roberts (the Elvis impersonator), Phil’s Disco and the Elastic Band Group.

The event was staged to raise awareness and collect funds for the local Specialised Dementia Day Services and £361.63 was raised.
