Defibrillator

IT has been reported that the police had cause to use the defibrillator, which is placed outside the town council building, and fortunately an ambulance arrived in time to use it.

There is no further report on the state of the patient.

DISCOVERING Old Welsh Houses - An Update, will be the topic of the lecture given by Margaret Dunn at the English Section of Cymdeithas Bro Ffestiniog’s October meeting to be held at 7.30pm this Thursday evening at the community centre.

For non-members the fee to attend is £2.

Rally

DESPITE the unkind weather conditions, many spectators turned out at Llechwedd on Friday morning to witness the stages of the Dayinsure Wales Rally GB, and it was the first time that this quarry site had been used as a stage for this popular event.

Fireworks

THE Blaenau Bendigedig group has announced that the annual fireworks evening will be held near the Lakeside Café at Tanygrisiau on 4 November.

COUNCILLORS Mel Goch ap Meirion and Eurwyn Jones have been elected by the town council to attend separate Parc Cenedlaethol Eryri meetings this month.

Gallery

THE Maenofferen Gallery hosts an exhibition by Francesa Williams, Images of War, until 2 November and admission to the gallery is free during the library’s opening hours.

Events

EVERY Wednesday of the month there is a Go Online event, which helps teach computing, between 10am and noon at the library.

On the same day, between 10.30am and 11.30am there is colouring for relaxation for adults. On Fridays for an hour from 3.30pm there are board games for all the family to enjoy.

Councillors

CLLR Elin Roberts has resigned as the councillor for the Diffwys and Maenofferen ward as she is now in university in France.

She was thanked by the council for her valuable input and was wished every success in the future.

A vacant seat on the council has been co-opted by Steffan Richards, Bodenyd, Bowydd Street to represent the Conglywal ward.
