Sports
AFTER their week off Bro Ffestiniog XV resume their Division 1 North programme with an away match at Llandudno this Saturday.
The Blaenau Amateurs FC were beaten 3-1 at Pwllheli and are home to Penmaenmawr Pheonix this Saturday.
The town’s Under-16 football team’s good run of results continued with an impressive 5-2 Lleyn and Eifionnydd League away win at Pwllheli with Sion Hughes scoring a brace, one each from Osian Davies and Morgan Slater and an own goal.
On 9 March they will be home to Llandudno Junction in the semi final of the North Wales Coast Challenge Cup with the kick off at 10am.
Defibrillators
THE town council has decided to install a defibrillator in both the Tanygrisiau and Manod areas, but where they will be put there has as yet not been confirmed.
Award
DELYTH Evans- Jones of the local shoe shop on High Street was present at the National Conference Centre at Birmingham recently where she was awarded the UK Student of the Year 2018 of the Society of Shoe Fitters and came home with a cup and a certificate on which her success was printed on.
Delyth is the daughter in law of Stan and Beryl Jones, the latter having been at the shoe shop for many years and at Siop Essie as many still call the shop.
Charger
HAVING discussed a letter from a local resident on the lack of a large electric car charging point, the council stated that they cannot offer any comments on how to overcome this problem but if these difficulties continue then the council would have a great interest in looking into the possibility of having an electric car charging point in the town centre.
Choir
THE BRYTHONIAID Choir, conducted by John Eifion with accompanist Elizabeth Ellis, took part in a choral competition at Huddersfield at the weekend.
They won two competitions namely the male voice then the open event.
And to round off a good event they were placed second in a competition of the first two winning choirs in the various sections of the competition.

THE BLAENAU men’s darts team had a 6-2 home win over Pwllheli in a Gwynedd Super League match played at the RWF Cub on Sunday evening.
Fouling
THE council has agreed to install wooden posts in the old rugby club site for the purpose of displaying signs to prevent dog fouling.
Festival
FOLLOWING the success of the Winter Festival last year, the council has resolved to stage a summer festival as well as the winter one this year.
