Wifi
AFTER representatives of the council had attended a recent training meeting at Plas Tan y Bwlch, it has been reported that the community wifi system is now live in Blaenau and Llan Ffestiniog districts.
Benches
WITH some benches at Gardd Encil in a serious condition the town council has recommended that, as there is no need for a bench for Tai Dolawel at present, to install two new ones in Gardd Encil and to order four additional benches to go there.
Also to move one of the better benches to Cae Clyd instead of a bench that is in a poor condition.
Sports
BLAENAU Amateurs FC were beaten 2-1 at Nantlle Vale in a Welsh Trophy tie and they are in league action at Holyhead this Saturday.
Bro Ffestiniog XV were also losers by 46 -17 at Bala.
The local darts team were beaten 6-2 at Abergele in a recent Gwynedd Super League match.
Panel membership
CLLR Ronwen D Roberts has agreed to represent the town council on Gwynedd Council’s Education Department’s Pupil Admissions Panel and Exclusions Appeal Panel.
Choir
THE Moelwyn Male Choir conducted by Sylvia Ann Jones and accompanist Wenna Francis Jones were in concert at Betws y Coed on Friday evening with Gareth Griffiths the compère.
Then on Saturday they were performing at an 80th birthday party for a RWF Veteran at Glan Conway, and by all accounts they were well pleased by their performance and the fine reception they received there.
Bowls
THE bowling side were part of a competition that was held Grove Park, Rhyl on Sunday of four teams who are cup winners in their areas the others being Min y Don Colwyn Bay representing Clwyd, Llay Welfare from Wrexham and Coed Talon for Flintshire.
The Blaenau side were beaten in the semi final by the eventual winners Llay Welfare with Aled Owen and Stephen Jones their winners and a narrow loser was Dylan V Jones.
On Saturday at Llandudno Stephen Jones won three games to make it into the final eight of the North Wales League’s president event which will take place at Rhyl this Saturday.
Clwb Merched

Exhibition
THE town council has been informed that Lleucu Williams, the winner of the 2018 Patagonia Scholarship, will be holding an exhibition of her work at Antur Stiniog, date yet to be confirmed.
Evenings
THE Snowdonia National Park and town and community council’s meetings will be 30 September at Plas y Brenin, Capel Curig, and 1 October at Plas Tan y Bwlch, Maentwrog and two days later at Y Neuadd, Aberdyfi, each meeting will be from 6.30pm until 8.30pm.
Park
THE town council has agreed to a request to use the local park for the activities of young people in a fun day which is to be held there this Saturday, 21 September.

THE Maenofferen Gallery hosts a Quarry Girls Exhibition until 29 October and admission is free during the library’s opening hours.
