Town council

AT ITS latest meeting, Ffestiniog Town Council agreed to a request from the gardener to purchase 36 perennial plants for the Rawson Square.

The council discussed the issue of the park’s hedge growth.

The Probation Service has cut the hedge for free in the past, but this year they have no money to run the service.

A quote of £1,780 has been received from the gardener for doing the job and a councillor offered to do it if the council’s insurance allowed this.

The council then resolved to ask the Dref Werdd and those who cut the public footpaths for a quote and to ask their insurance company if it allows a councillor to volunteer to cut the hedge. Since, the hedge has been neatly cut by local gardener John Farrington.

The town council has donated £250 to cardiac charity SADS.

A request for a donation from Clwb Clink was declined by the council, as they already has agreed to finance youth clubs in the area through Gwynedd Council. The applicant is invited to send in further details of the activities of Clwb Clink for consideration when setting the council’s precept in January.

The town council has permitted the following planning applications: A single-storey front and rear extension to 1 & 2 Bodychain, Tanygrisiau; and construction of flat-roof extension at rear of Ferlas, Wynne Road with balcony over.
