Sports
BLAENAU Amateurs FC were beaten 4-3 by Nantlle Vale and this Saturday they are home to Mynydd Llandegai in a Barritt Cup tie.
Bro Ffestiniog were beaten 64-0 at Bethesda.
Choirs
ON Friday evening the Moelwyn Choir will make their annual pre-Christmas visit to Bryn Blodau Residential Home where they will entertain the residents and staff with a variety of carols.
On Monday evening the Rhiannedd y Moelwyn Ladies choir, conducted by Sylvia Ann Jones and accompanist Awen Roberts, were joined by soloist Geraint Roberts from Trawsfynydd in an evening of carol singing at the Pengwern Arms, Ffestiniog.
On Thursday evening the Brythoniaid Choir, conducted by John Eifion and accompanist Elizabeth Ellis, were in concert at Bangor Cathedral together with the Siriol Ladies Choir from Bangor and soloist Elin Fflur.
Camera club
JOHN and Linda Bell from Mold were the judges for the camera club’s G L Evans Cup for black and white prints.
The winner was Tom Dodd, second was Iona O’Neill and third was Rory Trappe.
Barmouth photographer Hilda Isles was a recent visitor to the club where she exhibited and talked about her landscape and mountain images, and she was thanked by Ian O’Neill for an interesting evening.
Fair
A CHRISTMAS table top fair is to be held at the WI Hall this Sunday from 11am to 2pm, organised by the Grandma’s Attic Community Project.
Library
NEXT Wednesday there will be a digital support session between 10am and noon and a prior booking is needed to attend.
On the next two Fridays from 10am to 1pm and 2pm to 4pm there is a break time board games session and colouring to relax.
Re-location
AT this time, the town council is not in a position to discuss the possible of the re-location of it’s chamber and offices from the High Street to the community centre until the consultation with local residents is complete.
The council has issued an article on the matter as well as a questionnaire in local shops as it is essential that they give residents enough time to respond before making any decision. It has been stated that the council will debate the matter further at a monthly meeting.

THE Maenofferen Gallery hosts an exhibition by artists of the Gweithdy until 11 January and admission is free during the library’s opening hours.
Surgery
IT has been announced that the local surgery will be closed this afternoon (Thursday) from 1pm until 5pm due to staff training purposes.
Ysgol Tanygrisiau
WRTH ddychwelyd yn ôl wedi’r hanner tymor cafodd Bl 3 a 4 ymweliad i Lyn Mair ble bu cerdded llwybrau a gwneud gwaith natur a chelf.
Bu disgo yn yr ysgol ar 7 Tachwedd dan ofal Cyfeillion yr Ysgol. Diolch yn fawr i bawb a fu’n helpu ac i Gai Toms am y gerddoriaeth.
Cafwyd noson hwylus drwy ddawnsio, chwarae gemau a bwyta c?n poeth.
Casglwyd swm o £160 gan y Cyfeillion yn y disgo.
Ar ddiwrnod Plant Mewn Angen bu helfa drysor a phaentio cerrig yn yr ysgol gyda’r disgyblion y llwyddo i godi £207.15 at yr achos.
Lighting
DESPITE the miserable weather, the annual switching on of the town’s Christmas lights took place last Thursday evening.
There followed a carol singing session at Antur Stiniog with pupils of the local Tanygrisiau, Manod and Maenofferen primary schools, the Oakeley Silver Band and members of local choirs taking part.
Blaenau Bendigedig group, who organised the event, is thankful to those who came along and supported the event.
They also announced that the winner of the best Christmas decorated shop was the Eifion Stores with Seren in 2nd place and Siop Gloddfa 3rd.
99 High Street won the house category with 6, Maenofferen Street in 2nd place and 152 Manod Road was 3rd.
The overall winner once again was Dafydd Hughes’ house at Glanypwll Road.
