Meeting
REPRESENTATIVES of the Memorial Hospital defence committee will be meeting Neil Hamilton AM this Friday. He has met the defence committee before and is backing their ongoing quest to get the inpatient beds, the X-ray and Minor Injuries Units back to the new centre now under construction at the Memorial Hospital site.

THE English section’s first meeting of the year will be held at the Ganolfan at 7.30pm on 9 February, where the guest speaker Neil Evans from Llanfair, Harlech will give a talk on “Votes for Women in Wales”.
Poetry and Creative Writing group
THE group’s next monthly meeting will be held next Tuesday, 7 February at the Bridge Cafe between 10.30am and noon.

Council
THE Town Council has set a precept of £150,000 for the year 2017/18 which means a rate of £88.86 on Band D an increase of £5 to £30 per annum.
With the Easter break in April and the May local elections, the council has had to change their monthly dates for those months, so they will be meeting on 6 April and 18 May, the latter being its annual as well as an ordinary meeting.
It has been reported that the transfer of ownership of the council building from Cwmni Adwy to Antur Stiniog has now been completed with the council being the tenants of the ground floor only. In accepting the information the council expresses, once again, the disappointment that it was not offered the opportunity to take over the building into community ownership.

ELENI fydd y sefydliad yn dathlu can mlwyddiant a dechreuwyd blwyddyn brysur iddynt yn cyfarfod mis Ionawr gyda Nancy Evans yn llywyddu ac anfonwyd cofion at yr aelodau oedd yn methu bod yn bresennol oherwydd anhwylder, sef Valmai Hughes, Nancy Evans, Gladys Francis a Kit V Jones.
Darllenodd Bet Jones gofnodion mis Rhagfyr a chafwyd gwybodaeth am y gwahanol digwyddiadau sydd yn mynd ymlaen dros y misoed nesaf. Gwr gwadd y noson oedd Gwilym Price, yn rhoi sgwrs difyr iawn am drefnu i gwirfod-dolwyr ddosbarthu papurau newydd yn ardal Tanygrisiau ers blynyddoedd a dim ond un diwrnod oeddynt wedi methu gan fod eira ar Fwlch Gorddinan â’r papurau ddim wedi cyrraedd. Diolchwyd iddo gan amryw o’r aelodau am noson ddifyr iawn.
Cafwyd te parti da iawn o dan ofal Valerie Davies. Enillwyd raffl y noson gan Gwilym Price ac un misol gan Margaret Roberts.
