THE town council has donated £200 to Cancer Research Wales and £25 to the Merioneth Young Farmers Club’s Federation.

Siarad

THE area social group for Welsh learners, Siop Siarad, will be meeting at the Bridge Cafe at 11am on Saturday, 25 March. All learners and fluent speakers are invited to attend for an informal cuppa and a chat.

Defibrillator

THE British Heart Foundation has been invited to meet the town council to discuss a motion put forward by Cllr Kevin Baldwin to install a defibrillator on the Council building.

ON Friday evening the Ladies Rhiannedd y Moelwyn Choir, conducted by Sylvia Ann Jones and accompanist Awen Davey, were celebrating their 4th anniversary with a concert at the RWF Club where they were joined on stage by the Moelwyn Male Voice Choir, also conducted by Sylvia Ann and their accompanist was Wenna Francis Jones.

Darellenodd Nia ddau o fywgyffriadau sef detholiad o lyfr Gareth Lewis, Hogyn o’r Felin a llyfr Dai Jones, Llanilar a detholiad o ddwy nofel. Yna, arweiniodd Aled hwy i fyd y we a’r hyn mae y llyfgelloedd yn ei gynnig trwy y cyfrwng yma a mi roedd hi yn noson addysgiadol a diddorol dros ben.

Congratulations

HAVING just been congratulated on winning the 2017/18 Patagonia Scholarship Elin Roberts has also been congratulated by the town council on being selected to attend the UNIQ Law Summer School in Oxford. Elin, who is from Lord Street, is also included on the list of 175 to be selected for the US Sutton Trust Programme. The council has purchased several gifts locally for Maia Jones, the winner of the 2016/17 Patagonia Scholarship to take with her as she visits Rawson this month.

St David’s Church

ST DAVID’s Church is holding a coffee morning on Friday, 24 March, at 10am.This is a special event for Mothering Sunday and will give an op-portunity for visitors to remember their mothers with a short time of prayers.
