Station

POLICE Officers Delyth Edwards and Emma Jones, together with Sean Braithwaite and Jamie Atkinson, of the British Transport Police, attended a town council meeting, where it was reported that there have been problems in the past with damage to the Arriva Wales Trains shelter at the station with as soon as it was repaired it would be damaged again.

Plans are underway to build a new, possibly stone, shelter and to work with local schools with pupils being able to update the building every year to keep it fresh.

To this aim, it is hoped that a meeting will be held with the community.

The need is for a work together to get young people to clean graffiti and clear up the mess which was made following the party at the end of Ysgol y Moelwyn ‘s examinations in the summer.

In the meantime the officers request if anyone finds damage on the train station they are asked to end a text message to 61016 or call 0800405040 and pupils in their final year at primary school are to be targeted regarding arson prevention.

In the meantime Cllr Mark Thomas has offered to work with the British Transport Police in building a new shelter.

Rawson

GWYNEDD Council has no objection in principle for the installing of the town’s Twinned with Rawson signs on the A470 on the Crimea and the A496 near Allt Goch, but the Welsh Government consent will be required to install the sign on the A470 and they will need to agree the design of the sign with the cost likely to be around £1,500 per sign and the Council is to move on with designing the signs.

Regarding Rawson the winner of the Council’s Patagonia Scholarship Elin Roberts was visiting Rawson in October and the Council bought a love spoon, something of a Welsh cloth and a book to be presented by her to the library at Rawson.

A CITIZENS Advice Bureau representative will be available at the library between 10am and 1pm on Mondays to assist and give relevant advice where needed.
