Scarf project

A project has been set up in Dolgellau which aims to knit the longest scarf possible.

The plan is to knit a scarf for Idris Gawr by 7 December, which is when Dolgellau holds its late-night shopping evening and G?yl Nadolig.

People have been busy knitting in order to add to the scarf and parts are currently on display in several shops across the town.

One section is in the window at T H Roberts Café; lit at night it looks like a Christmas tree.

Watch for more of these trees which will be appearing as 7 December approaches.

Next year, the community will be making the scarf into all kinds of blankets, rugs, sleeping bags and so on for needy people.

Organisers are still accepting knitted, crocheted or felted squares, there is no time limit.

Continue to deliver these to the cafés, hairdressers and other places where you see baskets displayed.
