St Mary’s Women’s Fellowship
A COFFEE morning was held at the Royal Ship Hotel on 29 March. There was a very good attendance, and members were very grateful to John and the staff for their generous contribution to the morning, and extended their gratitude and thanks.
Members were pleased to be able to add £207 to the Speakers’ Charity Fund, which is used annually to support local and national charities, sometimes enabling them to react immediately to calls for support, such as the recent emergency in Mozambique.
On 1 April, the fellowship held its annual church service. Nine members attended, and patron Tim Webb led the annual Ladies Day Service. The topic of his sermon was ‘Comfort’ taken from 2 Corinthians 1.
An inspiring and comforting sermon, which was appreciated by all. Members are grateful for his faithful input in the Women’s Fellowship and hope to see him again next year. Beryl won the raffle.
Eight members attended a meeting on 15 April. Jessie opened with the Lord’s Prayer and the speaker was Joanne Jones and the topic was flower arranging.
She enthusiastically demonstrated how to make a beautiful wedding corsage and a table centre arrangement. Joanne kept the members entertained whilst completing her lovely arrangements, giving plenty of tips on how to have a try at home. Jessie gave the vote of thanks. Sheila won the raffle.
