ANOTHER extremely interesting and successful meeting of the group was held on Wednesday, 11 October, at Y Ganolfan, Bryncrug, with an excellent number of members present.

The guest speaker for the evening was the entrepreneur, Peter Saunders OBE, the current chairman of the company Surechill.

During his talk Peter touched upon the sponsorship work that had been provided to local individuals and projects by the Peter Saunders Foundation, which had now ceased. Peter has won the Business Angel of the Year Award, which is an award given for supporting and guiding fledging business ventures – similar to Dragon’s Den.

The competition of ‘A sentence made from the word Sure Chill’ was won by Gwenfair Pierce.

The next meeting will be held on Wednesday, 8 November, when guest speaker Pauline Aslin will talk on the topic ‘Trees and Bees – Working with Bees’ and the evening’s competition will be ‘My favourite Bee Item’.
