Harlech and Ardudwy Leisure
THE next bingo session takes place on Saturday, 26 October, in the poolside café. Eyes down at 2.30pm.
On Monday, 28 October, starting at 10.30am, Beryl will present a pop-up shop featuring good as new clothes.
On Tuesday, 29 October, Lowri Joyce from Transport for Wales will be at the centre’s regular Tuesday coffee morning to answer questions about the Cambrian Coast line from 10.30am.
On 2 November, the regular themed meal evening will offer diners winter warming curries and more besides.
On Saturday, 23 November, this time in Harlech’s Neuadd Goffa, Rock Ardudwy’s next concert features the local group, Session.
All welcome to all events, but meals and concerts should be booked in advance.

Community council
THE last meeting was held at The Old Library, at 7.30pm on 7 October.
Cllr Caerwyn Roberts declared an interest in the planning application for Rhiwgoch Bach, Harlech.
He also declared an interest in the planning application for land between Trem Arfor and Hiraethog, Harlech and he signed a Personal Declaration of Interest Form for both and was not present when the applications were discussed.
Cllr Ceri Griffith declared an interest in the financial application for Eisteddfod Ardudwy and she signed a Personal Declaration of Interest Form.
There is an agreement for the council to put Christmas lights up on four poles at a cost of £150 each.
The chairman was told that it was not possible to place lights on electricity poles that were under the care of MANWEB because of safety, and that shop owners had agreed to place a star that lights up in their shop.
Cllr Martin Hughes reported that he had attended a meeting with the National Park on behalf of the council
Planning applications: Erection of split level three-bedroom detached dwelling – land between Trem Arfor ag Hiraethog, Stryd Fawr, Harlech (NP5/61/560D) - object to this application because of the visibility to the nearby houses and also concern with regard to parking.
Erect pitched roofed extension, remove flat roof and replace with slates over, change access and extend curtilage – Rhiw Goch Bach, Harlech (NP5/61/266) - support this application.
Applications for financial contributions: Memorial Hall Committee - £500; Old Library Committee - £500; Harlech & Ardudwy Leisure - £9,797.45; Cylch Meithrin Harlech - £1,000; Eisteddfod Ardudwy - £500; Dizzie Dancers – none as no balance sheet had been received with the application; Welsh National Sheep Dog Trials 2020 – none as no balance sheet had been received with the application and also the application was not local.
Historical society
THE meeting on Tuesday, 8 October, was presented by Paul Walton and he was speaking about the book, Marians on the Mawddach.
The book is about how young boys who would travel from Queen Mary Grammar School in Walsall established in 1554 to the Mawddach as part of a school trip and they would stay in the converted coach house of a Victorian house called Farchynys.
The talk concentrated on the period from 1963 to the present day, and Paul Walton explained how it would have been for the young boys to come to the Mawddach and stay in Farchynys which was dull and very limited on comfort in 1969.
Next month’s talk will be on 12 of November and will be presented by Quentin Deakin who will be discussing Communities at War and Community Relations in Merioneth during the Second World War.
Rock Ardudwy
THE volunteer fundraising team who support local community causes brought Tina Turner to Harlech.
Locals enjoyed a fantastic night a Tina Turner tribute act (pictured) took to the stage in Neuadd Goffa.
The show was a sell-out and this was another great night for everyone to relax, have a drink and enjoy a dance.
The Rock Ardudwy team raises funds for Harlech & Ardudwy Leisure Centre.
The aim is also to support other community causes when possible and they have recently made a donation to Cylch Meithrin, Harlech to help with their new outdoor play area for the younger children.
Future Rock Ardudwy have many events coming up, which includes: “Session”- Back on stage due to local demand, on Saturday, 23 November.
