THE latest community news from Harlech.

WI THE theme for the February meeting was a 21st birthday buffet, with a sweet and savoury spread cooked by our members. The president Christine Hemsley welcomed all members present, using the new and long awaited sound system; it makes such a difference. Meirion was sung, accompanied by Myfanwy Jones on the piano. The minutes of last month’s meeting and the county letter were read and other business was discussed, including information of the group’s new craft venture and details of the St David’s day meeting in March, which all the visitors and members alike will enjoy. By this time, the wonderful spread was calling the members to take a plate and sample the delicious food the members had made, along with tea and coffee provided by Ann Edwards and Denise Hagan. It was difficult to choose a winner but the best dish of the evening was won by treasurer Sheila Maxwell for her vodka jellies. The raffle was won by Denise Hagan. The St David’s Day meeting will be on 8 March, at 7pm in the Memorial Hall.
