Community Council
THE council has agreed to donate £18,968.80 during the 2018/19 financial year to Harlech and Ardudwy Leisure and to continue doing so annually for the next five years.
Cllr Freya Bentham reported that a meeting had been held with Chris Jones regarding Harlech Regeneration and that she had a meeting with the Board of the Theatre on the 7 December.
She also reported that double yellow lines will be painted on the corner down Pentre’r Efail in January and also clearer signage with the speed limit on the road going out of the town towards Talsarnau will be installed at the same time, there was a scheme to make Beach Road safer for walkers.
She also declared that she had been informed that the planning application by the Coleg to turn the amenities centre into a hotel had been granted and also that she had met with representatives of Visit Wales and taken them around the area and also that she had attended a meeting of Penllyn and Sarnau.
Cllr Martin Hughes felt that the council needed to be more included with the Theatr and Cllr Freya Bentham agreed to bring this matter to the board’s attention.
Concern was voiced that some buses do not come into town and that some passengers had to walk from the top of St David’s hill.
There was a need to draw the Highways Department attention to the fact there was a big hole in one of grids at the bottom of the steps by Y Branwen and Cllr Elfyn Anwyl agreed to take a picture of this and send it to the clerk.
Concern was voiced that cars were parking opposite the entrance to Arfyn, Old Llanfair Road, but it was stated that there was no where else for the cars in question to park.
