Cylch Cinio DAETH nifer dda o aelodau Cylch Cinio Llanbedr Pont Steffan ynghyd unwaith eto yng Nghlwb Rygbi’r dref ar nos Iau, 7 Chwefror. Pleser y llywydd, Eifion Williams, y tro hwn oedd croesawi Michael Morgan, Felinfach - cymeriad adnabyddus i’r mwyafrif ohonynt - fel gwestai arbennig y noson a chafwyd mwynhad arbennig wrth wrando ar ei gyflwyniad ar ‘Hanes y Diwydiant Llaeth yng Ngheredigion’. Yn frodor o Fwlchllan, aeth Michael i Ysgol Gynradd Llangeitho ac yna Ysgol Gyfun Tregaron cyn mynd ymlaen i ennill cymwysterau ym meysydd cymorth cyntaf a hylendid bwyd, ac yn hwyrach fe dderbyniodd ddiploma ‘Quality Control in Manufacturing’ yng Ngwlad yr Haf. Y mae ei bresenoldeb dros y blynyddoedd ar ran Ambiwlans Sant Ioan ym mhob achlysur chwaraeon neu debyg o’r bron yng nghyffiniau Llanbed yn ddigon hysbys, ond ei brofiad o weithio yn ffatri laeth Felinfach o 1965 tan ei chau yn 1988, ac yna yn hufenfa Llangadog hyd at 2005, oedd deunydd ei anerchiad. Yr oedd ganddo drysorau perthnasol i’w harddangos hefyd - yn bennaf casgliad sylweddol o ffotograffau a fyddai gweinyddwyr y Bwrdd Marchnata Llaeth wedi eu gwaredu oni bai i Michael gymryd meddiant ohonynt wrth i’r ffatri gau. Maent yn record unigryw o fywyd ffatri Felinfach a’r drafnidiaeth rheilffordd a lori fu’n ei gwasanaethu hi a’r ffatri laeth cyfagos yn Llanio o gyfnod y “churn” laeth i gyfnod y tanceri. Yn eu plith yr oedd lluniau o’r gweithlu, cymeriadau o hoffus goffadwriaeth i aelodau’r cylch mewn sawl achos. Fe achubodd beth enghreifftiau o offer y ffatri hefyd - ambell i ‘separator’ ac ambell un o’r 17,000 o ‘churns’ aeth i’r iard sgrap. Er i’r bwrdd ei wobrwyo a gwyliau yn Ynysoedd yr Orkney fel gweithiwr y flwyddyn ar un achlysur, clywyd ganddo iddo gywiro cynrychiolydd y bwrdd wrth ffarwelio a’r ffatri am y tro olaf gan roi gwybod iddo mai ffermwyr Ceredigion, nid y bwrdd, oedd mewn gwirionedd wedi ‘edrych ar ei ôl’. Cafwyd tipyn o hanes hufenfa Llangadog hefyd, sydd bellach yn cynhyrchu bwyd c?n a chathod, a chan mai tuniau pwdin reis oedd ei phrif gynnyrch tra bu’n gweithio yno yr oedd Michael yn dawel ddiolchgar nad oedd y wledd ardderchog a baratowyd gan Gegin Gwenog yn y Clwb Rygbi ar y noson hon yn cynnwys yr eitem honno. Cyn i’r llywydd ddod a’r noson i ben, rhoddwyd gair o ddiolch i Mr Morgan gan un o amaethwyr blaenllaw’r ardal, John Davies, Tynlofft, am noson ddiddorol a oedd yn dwyn llawer o olygfeydd a digwyddiadau bore oes i’w gof yng nghyd-destun y diwydiant llaeth. Gwahoddir gwragedd a chyfeillion yr aelodau i gyfarfod Noson G?yl Dewi’r Cylch ar nos Iau, 7 Mawrth yng Nghlwb Rygbi’r dref pan groesawir Côr Seingar. Cymdeithas Hanes THE February speaker at Cymdeithas Hanes Llambed was Ross Cook, who runs a consultancy providing archaeological and heritage services. He spoke to a title of ‘Histories in Homes: the development and dating of the house’. He illustrated his talk with many slides featuring a very large range of different house types, along with diagrams, starting with the medieval hall house with an open fire in the centre. He showed an example of a house built in 1335 in Oxfordshire which is still used as a family home today. He went on to describe the sub medieval house, which has more rooms, more fires for heating and dates from the 16th century. The Renaissance house begins to appear from the 1590s with different design and functional features, in particular the placing of the main fireplace towards the end of the house. The more modern house style began to appear from the 1700s with a landing upstairs, separate bedrooms and a bathroom in some cases. There was a good appreciation amongst the audience of the various photographs which he showed, especially of those taken in Wales. The next meeting of Hanes Llambed will take place on Tuesday, 19 March. The speaker will be E Lloyd Jones and he will talk about the ‘History of Llanio and the Milk Factory’. The talk will be in Welsh, with a translation facility available. HUTS Workshop HUTS Workshop has thanked Sainsbury’s, Lampeter and their customers.
