St Padarn’s Bell Ringers
LAST Sunday morning, the congregation arriving for the 10am Welsh Service were greeted by the full 10 bells being rung.
Amongst the ringers, was David Phillips paying a brief visit home from Oxford where he is currently undertaking a Phd in Physics.
David started ringing in the tower when he was just 12 years old, and is now a very talented ringer, ringing most Sundays in towers round Oxford.
Wednesday evening practice nights will be continuing over the coming holiday period but there may be odd occasions where they have to be cancelled if there are insufficient ringers available.
It is hoped that the bells will be rung on Sunday mornings before the 10am Welsh Service throughout.
Visitors to the practices are always welcome and last Wednesday evening, 11 June, four non-ringers from Northampton, Massachusetts, were warmly welcomed to the Tower and thoroughly enjoyed their visit.
