Organ recital

For those seeking a calm oasis amidst the hurly-burly of the bank holiday weekend celebrations, St Padarn’s Church is hosting a recital by three organists on the afternoon of Saturday, 25 August.

The recital starts at 3pm and entrance is by donation.St Padarn’s Bell Ringers There are enough ringers available for the regular Sunday Service ringing before the 10am Welsh Service, to take place throughout the summer, but some of the Wednesday evening practice nights are having to be cancelled at short notice. On Friday, 2 August, there was a memorial service in church for Canon William Watkins who was born and bred in Llanbadarn and returned to live in the village on his retirement from the ministry. He loved to hear the Llanbadarn bells and was always delighted to inform the ringers of how much pleasure the sound of the bells gave him. Thus a band of five came together to ring slow rounds on the back five bells before his memorial service and the ringing finished with the tolling of the Rudhall tenor. A band of very experienced ringers will be visiting the tower early in September and ringing a full peal lasting over three hours on the 10 bells
