BELL Ringing

Last Sunday morning’s service ringing saw a very good turnout of ringers and with one of the recently-trained local ringers making his Sunday morning service ringing debut and a visiting ringer from Kent, the congregation attending the 10am Welsh service were greeted by the magnificent sound of all 10 bells being rung.

The Kentish visitor was particularly struck by the very good and positive attitude prevailing in the tower, as he rings in part a of the county where there are many good towers but a grievous shortage of ringers to ring them, such that many towers at present are not being regularly rung.

Safeguarding Meeting

The protection of children and vulnerable adults is taken very seriously in the St David’s Diocese and persons who work in any way with Children or vulnerable Adults in the benefice are subject to checks.

The Rev Lynn Rees, a non Stipendiary priest in the benefice, also is employed by the Diocese as its safeguarding officer.

Last Monday evening in the church hall, Lynn led a very successful safeguarding update meeting for the Bro Padarn Ministry Area which saw some 30 people attending.

Services

Next Sunday, 13 August, is the ninth after Trinity and the second Sunday of the month and services will be as normal, and are: 8am, Holy Communion using the 1984 Red Book setting; 10am, Cymun Bendigaid and 11.15am, Choral Eucharist.

All are welcome to the services, and last Sunday a goodly number of visitors to the area were warmly welcomed to the services.
