Visitors from Far and Wide
St Padarn’s is one of the churches involved in the Peaceful Places Heritage Churches Project in north Ceredigion.
A number of the churches and chapels involved with this project have been reporting increasing numbers of visitors this year. A look in the St Padarn’s visitors’ book confirms this, and shows recent visitors to the historic church from places as diverse as Wisconsin, USA; Patagonia and Argentina; and a wide range of places in the British Isles.
Aber Opera Concert
The splendid acoustics of St Padarn’s will be put to good use when Aber Opera presents a concert of operatic choruses and duets along with instrumental interludes on Friday, 22 September at 7.30 pm. Admission is £5 and all proceeds go to church funds.
Parish Magazine
The September edition of the Parish magazine is available from the table at the back of the church and contains news and services for the four churches in the benefice.
A fascinating article, Reflection of a brass polisher, by one of the brass cleaners gives people the opportunity to learn more about the inscriptions on the churches – many brasses which most people notice but frequently never read.
