Community Council
IN the meeting of 6 July, at the village hall, present were eight councillors and one county council representative.
The Standing Orders, which exist from 2002 and Language Policy, were renewed and altered to keep up with the times.
A copy of the new edition will be published accordingly on the web page in due course.
Three Planning Applications were received this month to be addressed:
a) Application NP5/62/81Y – Shell Island, campsite – Demolition of existing chalet and erection of new 3 bedroom chalet. The council supports this development.
b) Application NP5/62/T124D - Hen Bandy, Erection of single storey and two storey rear extensions. Again the council supports this development.
c) Application NP5/62/68D – Plot adjacent to Bryn Mair, demolish air raid shelter and erect two bedroom bungalow. Again council authorised their support to this development.
Several committees were attended recently - One Voice Wales, National Park Authority Meeting at Aberdyfi, and Code of Conduct meeting at Bala.
Matters arising from Gwynedd Council - expecting the contractors to cut the grass verge in and around Llanbedr now. Spraying the Japanese knotweed in the next fortnight, a new rubbish bin will be placed in the picnic car park. The entrance wall to this area also needs tidying and has been reported to Gwynedd Council.
The cradle seats which were vandalised will be replaced in the playing field. £140 grant money has been awarded by the police towards their purchase costs..
Several emails were received regarding proposed access road for the consideration of the consultation which came to a close on the 12 June. No further information regarding the outcome.
The council wishes to make it clear that the pamphlet from Protect Llanbedr which was circulated around some households in the village had no connection with the council.
Talwrn Bach Railway Crossing will be closed from 24 to 25 of July from 11pm to 6am for general maintenance. However, measures will be in place for emergency services and the public to cross over the railway if need be.
Space Port – not a lot to be said as yet regarding this issue. No further information available.
In receipt of email with concerns about poor access in Llanbedr to mobile phone reception and broadband. This has been addressed and the council hopes that the issue will be resolved by the end of the year.
A request to put a link from the community council web page to the Protect Llanbedr web page. The matter was discussed and the majority declined this request
War Memorial – Mr McMaster has retired from his volunteering post of looking after this site due to personal circumstances and the council wishes to express their sincere thanks for all his hard work.
Llanbedr Community Council every year accepts the school pupils from Ysgol Ardudwy during activity week. It is taking place on 12 and 13 July, weather permitting. They will do some work at Llanbedr – planting flowers, clearing rubbish.
