MEMBERS enjoyed a pleasant afternoon in the company of the guest speaker in June.

Ross Ashe-Cregan was born in Lyme Reges, Dorset, and joined the army as a boy soldier. After training and moving to different parts of the world, this gave him his taste for adventure. Following a long and varied career in the army, he settled in Tywyn and opened his adventure business, running courses and adventures for a good cross section of the public, including organising expeditions to many of the great mountain ranges of the world. With his talk and slides he took them on a tour of many of his expeditions to those mountain ranges, in Finland, Norway, Slovenia, Switzerland, Morocco, Spain and Nepal.

June Hill, the president for the afternoon, thanked the speaker and invited all to the tables to enjoy tea prepared by Jackie Evans, Jenny Hall, Christine Harper and Lorraine Kit.

The raffle was won by Derwena Owen.
