THE club held a successful Welsh tea at the community centre on 17 March, where members and friends gathered to enjoy a lovely tea prepared by friends of the club.

There were plenty of raffle prizes to be won and the cake and bric-a-brac stalls were well supported.

£480 was raised for the funds.

The monthly meeting was held on 29 March, when Lynfa Williams welcomed guest speaker, Elin Evans of Penegoes.

Elin graduated from Cardiff Metropolitan University after studying a course for artists, makers and designers working with ceramics, textiles, metal, wood and jewellery, before deciding to work with leather as her favourite material.

Lynfa thanked Elin for an enjoyable afternoon and wished her well.

She also thanked the tea ladies, Frances Fenwick, Sara Rees and Eleri Evans.

The raffle was won by Margaret Teare.

A warm welcome awaits all who wish to join the monthly meetings held in the community centre on the last Thursday of the month at 2.30pm.
